Hey guess what, we were featured in digicamera.net news with Sami! Awsum! :) His blog has gazillion readers so it got spotted and also my blog was mentioned. Cooool! So, welcome new readers! :D Feel free to comment on any post - feedback is always welcome! Here is Sami's blog post about our shoot with Fujix100.

We, in fact, shot at my place. I just hung the coathangers (painted by me some years back) on my wall and almost at the same time when I asked if I should take them down for the shoot, Sami was all excited about them. x) Hehee. And it's pretty amazing how the colours match my tattoo. :D Well, I do have my fave colours.. ;)

From frenzy to tranquillity

Finally something new, right? :) We planned to do this photoshoot already last year, but something always came up and we never managed to do it. So for the first photoshoot of the year 2012 I think this one is more than appropriate.

What was different in this shoot, was the camera. If it hadn't been a photographer I know and trust, if it'd been a new photographer with a camera that looks like this:

I would've had great difficulties in believing the phtographer was for real. The camera looks totally old (which doesn't mean it's bad necessarily) and unprofessional (which kinda does). At least to the eye of someone who doesn't know much about cameras and stuff.

However this camera is not a toy - as I learned. It's in fact Fuji X100 and you can learn more about it here on its website.

Why did I feel like this? Why would perhaps other people less savvy about cameras feel the same? The idea of course is that the professional camera is big and flashy (haahaa, pun, haa!) with lots of buttons and moving parts. The cameras tourists use(d in the 80s) to take snapshots from the statues and beaches and margaritas are small, simple and basically look(ed) like the Fuji up there. So, easy to feel a bit weird when a photographer takes this out of their bag, huh?

Also, I've learnt that even though the photographer tells me they have the state of the art camera that cost this and this much it means nothing. Some photographers with old and somewhat crappy cameras (or so I've been told) can be super talented and take awesome pictures. The flashy camera does not come with the skill to photograph, you know. So what I'm trying to say here is that.. em.. never trust the looks of the camera. :D

Buh Bye Old Year

I was just thinking about the year that's just coming to the end. It was pretty crappy year and pretty much everything sucked except for the photoshoots! :) And modelling is one thing that has made me sooo happy during 2011. I did some amazing photoshoots with old and new photographers and I feel as though I've really grown as a model. :)

Even though the end of this year has been quiet and I haven't done many photoshoots, I got plans with a couple of photographers for the near future! So Jodie keeps on modelling, don't you worry! :D Also, I guess I'm sort of going to be represented by an agency soon. Hope that brings new work.

Also I love how this blog has developed and how I got so many readers and page views and the wonderful comments I get from you! <3

I'm going to add here a pic from weheartit (here), it has no fireworks, cos I don't like them at all. Instead there is a big city - which is something I'd love to find myself in one day. Perhaps year 2012...

Empty hallways pt II

The promised part two with the latex socks. Yes, I stuffed myself into a latex garment once again.Socks were quite easy though. :) The part one here.

However, I haven't done a nude shoot in ages, so I was surprised to find myself feeling a bit nervous about that. But hey, I'm not nude - I'm wearing shoes and socks! Duh!

On the photoshoot it felt totally comfortable to undress though. I've done so many nude shoots - and photoshoots in general - with Markus. I also like doing nude, cos then I don't need to worry about the clothes. I prefer not to do nudes with new photographers though.

I was soooo happy with the way these photos turned out. I was a little afraid of looking too trashy and too fetish. :P The latex doesn't stand out too much however and I think the result is more that of a fashion photoshoot, don't you think?

Must add a bit of a narcissistic comment here in the end.. I also love the fact that I can see how my workin out hasn't gone to waste. For once, I actually like my belly again. ^^ (Belly used to be my favourite part of my body as a teenager.) And yes, even models have insecurities about their bodies - I'm 100% sure even the top of the top ones do.

Yesterday we had a photoshoot with Markus. I haven't done a photoshoot in ages and I was soooo happy after this one. Also my happiness was due to a nice photoshoot. ^^ The thought on my mind was: wish I could do this for living. Cos I fuckin love modelling! I love the photographers, I love the feeling of learning new things, of moving in front of the camera and actually feeling I'm in the right place. So, hellz yeaaah, this photoshoot rocked. I'll post pt 2 later, so don't go anywhere!

On these Markus wanted to shoot the movement. He told me he hadn't done this kind of pics before and therefore couldn't have done this with anyone else. <3 Hee. ^^ Comments like this make me so happy. I'm good for trying new stuff that the photographers aren't too sure of what they're doing cos I know my s**t. x)

Oh and I dyed my hair pink at the ends. :)

New portfolio

Whoaa, I just managed to make myself a real portfolio. By real I mean the kind that is on a platform (that's what it's called, right) that is not a community and doesn't allow commenting. Simply, a portfolio.

It looks a bit lame with only one project folder, but I was unable to decide on categories under which to put different photos. I could've organized them on such labels as "fashion", "beauty", "art". But which is which, I have no idea. Probably it's cos for myself it's difficult to see some particular photo as eg. fashion. Anyway, I got a proper portfolio now, so yaayy! :)

Also I surprised myself and didn't add all the same photos I have on ModelMayhen. I wanted to stick to newer ones. There's only one pic taken 2010, all the others are from this year.

If you feel like something is missing, I'm open to suggestions. Although, I take them as suggestions, not as orders. :)

And a not totally random pics for you.

I noticed I liked this one but havent published here. I was wondering whether I should put it on my port, cos my lips look so great on this one and I'm wearing glasses (which, btw, I normally am).

I was thinking might this be a bit too much for my official port, or would it just give it that little whoaa-effect that makes it stand out more.

Updating portfolio - help needed

What I hate with passion: updating my portfolio. What to take out and what to add. I'm talking about my Modelm Mayhem port here.

No I need you help! Not just want, you see, but need.

First of all, any ideas what to throw away from my port? In order to add new stuff there I need to get rid of the older ones. There's a limit to the number of pics there. The ones you possibly cannot see (unless you got profile there as well) are nude and you don't need to worry about those. :D

Second which of these pics on this post should I add there? I love them both so much, just can't decide. I'm talking about the girly little black dress -pics by Marko.

Also I got so many pics from the photoshoot with Niko (the link opens up all posts tagged with Niko ie. all posts with his name tagged) earlier that I'm having serious trouble... O.O Not to mention the Latex Gone Golfing -shoot with Markus (don't forget the first part of the series either)!

My dream photoshoot?

I got a question from the photographer Markus. :) He writes:

Not really sure if you have covered this already, but what if you shared us a thought or two on subject: "My dream shoot"? So, what would a photo shoot be like if you was the mastermind? You can give some general ideas ("I would like to be shot in space" ;)) or some very detailed stuff (describing everything from the location to make up and all the things in between). I'm in impression most of the corgeous settings and ideas implemented in your photos are works of the photographers' twisted minds. I might be wrong, though... :)

I actually answered this some time ago also on Formspring! Here's what I said:

A well known skilled photographer, super skilled make up artist and hair stylist and wardrobe assistant and all that. Plus I'd get paid. Plus the pics were for some rad magazine. I'd have the most amazing look and the photographer was an awesome person and we'd get along super well and the pics would end up being just ah-ma-zing! :D Yeah.. something according to those lines. :)

The photos could be for some awesome magazine or/and for some awesome campaign. A little couture or editorial. Nothing too boring or straightforward commercial.

Hmm, is that too boring and too vague? Isn't that what every model wishes for? :D Also, I'd love to try underwater modelling, since water has always been sort of my element (as a kid I was dreaming of being a mermaid, and loved to dive deep into the green lake, it was soooo beautiful). I know it would be challenging and I might suck at it, but still, I'd love to try. :D

Ohmigoosh, there must be gazillions of things I'd love to do or at least try! :)

And yes, most of the ideas on my photos are those of the photographers'. Usually the "idea" behind the shoot is a location and outfit and that's it. I guess it's sort of my job to deliver the rest. :D

Girly lady in the little black dress

A couple of weeks ago I had a shoot with Marko Saari. We've worked together before - nearly two years ago! So, about time to create some magic together. I was lucky I stayed at my friend Liisa's place, cos she's got the most amazing wardrobe! The amount of the dresses.. wow. :D And it's super awesome that we're nearly the same size. So, my wardrobe assistant on this shoot was Liisa Wiik. Aaaand I'm definately considering using her again for these purposes... ;) Her style is so different from mine, so it's great for photoshoots to have something completely different!

Here are a couple pics from the shoot. More coming for sure.

I'm kinda doing the same thing on these both, but then again, in completely different ways.. I thought should I post only one or the other, but decided to post them both, cos I couldn't decide.

I love love love that cute dress! And it made me feel totally girly and glamorous.

When I opened the file for the pic below my mouth blew open and I was like "What is that? Who is taht gorgeous woman there?!" So yeah, I'm happy with the photoshoot with Marko. :D

Last weekend I went to the capitol city again. I love Helsinki. So much going on down there. And so many photographers.

I shot for the first time with Niko Rakkolainen. My make up, hair and wardrobe were taken care of by lovely Riikka Satama. I lllllove the make up and it was wonderful how Riikka was so enthusiastic about her work! ^^ Must say, I'm pretty happy with them both! :)

In the three hours I spent at the shoot we did a couple more looks. I'll post them later.

Well, I should get more latex-golf pics next week though. :) But next weekend I'm going to Helsinki to meet friends and, surprise surprise, do two or three shoots - most likely three. Yippee, I'm soooo loving this again right now. How I wish I could just live on modelling. *sigh*

Gone golfing pt. I

Yesterday we did a photoshoot with Markus. There was a pretty friggin cold wind. Luckily we also had a bit of sun so it gave me a little more time not to freeze. Also I was made some excellent tea by his wife and I got to warm up at their place when I got too cold. ^^ Latex, my friends, does not warm an awful lot.

The dress is by Latex by Tiina Rikala and you've seen it before here on the pics by Sami Maanpää. The gloves are just basic latex gloves. We were hoping to get latex socks as well, but that didn't work out after all. And we needed to hurry with the photoshoot, cos it sure ain't getting any warmer!

I've had a couple of questions about latex on Formspring - which I find kind a funny, cos latex modelling really is not that big part of my modelling! Anyway I feel like there's a need to explain my realitionship with latex.

First of all, I wouldn't call it a fetish (and I'm not the kind of person who thinks fetishes are a bad thing and gross and perverse). I love the latex outfits I have thou. But I love them as I love any well tailored piece ofclothing. I love what Tiina does with latex! I also like the shiny look of latex. I even follow a blog that some of you might enjoy as well: HMSlatex untamed. But still, latex is "just" another material that you can use to be creative. I don't watch the pics and get aroused, no. What I see is innovation and creativity and even some rule breaking.

In fact, I find latex a bit difficult to wear and take care of. I'm sure those questions are of no importance to those who really love the material, but for me it feels a bit like too much trouble. O.O But as said, if one really is into latex, then these things won't be an issue. :)

However, getting dressed in latex is not a "necessary evil" as an Anonymous put it on Formspring. If it were, I would not be doing the shoots and shows in latex. It is, for me, slightly uncomfortable at times, but hey, the clothes are sexy and you only get to wear stuff like that so often! :)

What's up DareDolls?

So many people find my blog through googling Dare Dolls. And it's sad, cos I have no idea either why the site has been down for quite some time and what's going on and is anything going on or have they just forgotten about the project (after all, it was supposed to be a project at first!) or whaaaaat?

Well, what else can I do but to contact the man himself behind the whole DD-thingy and plain and simple: ask. To my query Pepe answered that DareDolls is soon coming back better than ever. In fact the deadline for the new beginning is 11.1.2012. What that means, I don't know, but I was told that the girls can from now on make the site look more like themselves. Goodie good.

So all of you who are desperately seeking info about Dare Dolls, this is all I know. And I sure hope on January 11th we see something happening!

Myself I'm retiring from the Dolls-business. Must give room for the young and the eager, huh!? ;) Also, I think I'm aiming for a different direction with my modelling. At the time it was great and I loved doing sets for DD, but everything has its time and so on. Right now the retirement is the thing and focusing on other kinds of modelling stuff. :)

And hey, I couldn't write a Dare Dolls -related post without posting you some DD-pics as well! ^^ 'Njoy mah darlings! For the last time Jodie goes Dare Doll.

I know I've been a lazy blogger lately, byt it's been quiet on the photoshoot front. However, I'm organizing a trip to Helsinki to do a couple of photoshoots again next month! :)

Purple latex

A couple of weeks ago we did a roadtrip in my friends' van to Tampere to do a latex show with Tiina Rikala in Tampere Fetish Factory -event. It was fun as always. :D Tiina often has her friends over to do the show and I must say she sure has a good taste in friends. :D I love meeting new people and having fun after the show at the party. Tiina's shows are also never (at least when I've been there) the usual kin of runway-shows, but involve a plot and some sort of storyline. This time we had a sircus theme going on with ringmaster leading the show, clown in a straitjacket on a wheelchair dancing with a more cheerful n' cute clown, lion tamer - who didn't manage to tame the lioness all that well - and a sexy burlesque finale. My role with another girl was to be some kind of a doll or circus princess (no brains lookin cute and waving a rhythmic gymnastics ribbon) :D hehee. I guess if it as possible we'd danced on a rope, but obviously not, so we had the ribbons instead. I wish I had pictures of the whole group, but I only got some of me taken in studio setting - and sadly without the awesome ribbon. :( Luckily I got to keep the ribbon. It's so much fun! :D

Yeah yeah, blaablaa, gimme the pics already! These are pretty much un-edited raw pics taken by the owner of the van and fellow model of the show, the lion tamer (the lion being his girlfriend), Sami Maanpää (his Flickr). Oh btw, he's also the dude that cuts my hair. :D A multitalent I guess (also a musician, here's his band!). x)

We took these pics in a bit of a hurry. It's too bad we never have the proper time to do the photoshoot. It's always so hectic before the show: everybody getting dressed, doing hair and make up to themselves and to eachother.. I did my make up myself. Tiina gave me the huge eyelashes and attached some rhinestones to my temples. I love the dress. I love purple and the cut is so awesome!

Or not so silent afer all. Anyway, we were shooting with Sami - needed to wait for the perfect rainy, but not too rainy, weather. Here are some samples in the form of making of pics and ~~two~~ three final end products. More to come.

Some passers by may have gotten a story to take home as they were driving past. A half nekkid lady with two dudes shooting her in her underwear and a jacket.. O.O OMG!

We had to shoot really quick and then jump out of the street so as not to get hit by cars. The photographer now really needed to guide the model to save her from being hit by a car! Hah! We were shooting so that the cars were coming behind me, so it was a bit difficult to concentrate at times. Also the trafiic that was pretty heavy at times didn't helt either. Not to mention the light rain and the cold wind. <3 Gotta luv these outdoor shoots! x) Hehee.

Okay, one more, and we'll wait to get more pics from Sami. :D

Edit: I only just now noticed (it's 23rd) that I had accidentally put a making of -pic here as the last one. Now it's the one it's supposed to be! :)

Remember I went to Helsinki a while back to do photoshoots? This was one of them. Went to Espoo to shoot with Lars Johnson.

Tomorrow I'm heading to Tampere Fetish Factory to do another Latex by Tiina Rikala show. :) I've been trying to learn to use the rhythmic gymnastics ribbon lately.. ;) We'll see how that turns out in the show Circue du Decadence. Pics coming of course. Hopefully of the show as well.

A little something to think about

I was going through some tumblr-blogs (or what the heck you're supposed to call them) and came across with this piece of text:

It scares me that some people believe that if one chooses to be naked on the internet (or engage in any kind of sex work), one forfeits any kind of privacy, personal space, respect, etc. As though being naked on the internet gives the entire world the open invitation to look at you, touch you, or make you feel uncomfortable.

I'm not going to make this another tumblr-kind of blog, but this text just hit me. Some time ago I had a conversation with a person about putting my pics on the internet and how I react to reactions by people who see them and comment on them. I think I can still be creeped out about comments or get sad or angry about what people on the internet, or otherways, say, even though I have made the decision to put pics of my (naked) body here. It does not justify everything even though I myself put myself in this situation and I don't need to feel bad even if I get upset or feel uncomfortable.

No one still has no right to make me feel uncomfortable, even though this blog is here and these pics exist.

Do I make any sense? :D

Oops, I totally thought that I'd posted pics by Teemu that we took on my last trip to Helsinki. But apparently I haven't. O.o Dearie me.

Anyways we did a test shoot and he tried out some lighting techniques and so on. Here are a couple of things that came out of it. :)

Three quite different looks with the same make up and hair. Well, for me it's all about make-up and hair and outfit, since I don't know much about lights and such technicalities. :D

Going urban

On my visit to Helsinki this week one of my shoots was with Jami Ropponen. He asked me to shoot with him with a clear concept of what and where to shoot and also had a wardrobe for me. Can it get any easier for a model? :) I'd love it if more often I could just go to the shoot without first worrying about which clothes to bring and whether they are anything the photographer had in mind.. Sometimes I just wish I had a stylist. Or sh*t loads of money to buy the proper clothes. :P Aaaanyway, this was an easy well planned shoot and we wrapped it up real fast. Jami told me this was partly because I was so easy to work with and he didn't need to tell me what to do all the time. It's nice to hear such thing. ^^ Makes me feel like I'm doing the right thing and that this relly is my thing.

Thisshoot was hmm, interesting also because we were shooting in the city. People stared and I needed to change outfit basically on the street. :D Weeell, I ain't that shy and sometimes a little audience is in fact a boost to model better, be more fierce as Tyra would say;) and just let the people think we're doing this for a "real" purpose;D. Hahaa!

Jami is a nice guy and I totally appreciate the planning he had done beforehand. The only thing was that apparently the world was trying to sabotage our shoot: there was a motorcycle parked in front of the car he had planned to shoot with (well, it wasn't that bad afterall), then there were some dudes sitting and drinking beer on the stairs we were about to shoot at (they agreed to move when we asked them) aaaand when we approached one of the locations, a park with wooden benches, we first noticed there was a van parked right on the spot and if that wasn't enough they were actually sawing the benches apart! I mean literally, they were removing the benches with friggin motor saws! What are the odds..

Nevertheless I think we had excellent locations and a relaxed nice photoshoot.

Make up and hair by me. By the way, big thank you to my hairdressers: Hannamari and Sami. I need two because the other one has decent scissors (and an education) and the otherone the machine. :D I'm just not willing to pay 30+ euros a month for hair. 8/

Yep. Before I get to posting actual photos, heres a little something for you. A test video by Nadi Hammouda from our photoshoot. And I was mortified doing this. x) Hehee, well, maybe that's exageration, but it was really scary doing a video instead of normal still pics. O.O I don't know why. I became totally self concious and suddenly didn't know how to model anymore! Oh well, I wanted to give it a go anyway - you need to challenge yourself. And in the end Nadi shot me and didn't tell me when. :D That worked out the best. Hehee. Anyway, this is just a test of what might a video look like.

I did 4 photoshoots in total during 3 days. I enjoyed them all. I'm surprised really, first for actually doing all of those shoots and not a one got cancelled, and second that all the photoshoots were fun and the photographers were cool dudes and we got along great (three of them were new for me, so). :)

A little hair update

I thought it might be useful to have a pic of the latest hairstyle I've got. So, here it is. No more mohawk -ish thing going on.

I'm really looking forward to next week by the way! I'm taking a trip to Helsinki to do as many shoots as I possibly can in a couple of days (with a little time for meeting friends and second hand shopping too!). I got shoots planned with new and old photographers atm. I'm quite picky with who I shoot with nowadays. I must say I'm more likely to say yes if the photographer has a clear idea of what to shoot and where. I'm even more likely to say yes if the photographer is providing clothes etc for the shoot and I don't need to spend time on thinking about what is most suitable etc. However, I'm most confident when I do my make up myself.. but then again, photographers usually check my port and realise they don't need to hire a MUA. :) Hehee. ^^

What is your daily skincare and makeup routine?

(A question I got through Formspring and clicked share and didn't realise it would actually be like this on my blog, oh well, now that this is here, I'll keep it. Now you can also comment and ask further questions if you got any.)

I use eco cosmetics (MaryLou Bio, Madara, Vivisante, Lavera, Anne Lind...) and mineral make up (Lily Lolo, LaurEss ..) in all cases possible (as eye make up I still have "normal" cosmetics).

In the morning I rinse my face with water and apply either almond oil or some moisturiser - or nothing if my skin doesn't feel like it realy needs it.

Every day, whenever I go out of my door, I draw my eyebrows and cover under eye-area. Sometimes I also apply lipstick and lip gloss. Sometimes eyemake up: eye shadow, liner and waterproof mascara. In the wintertime when I'm pale as a vampire I may also use mineral foundation and blusher.

In the evening I remove my make up with either virgin coconut oil or almond oil, or other oil I happen to have, and cleanse my face with some cleansing foam (cos I love foams best and you can find some excellent foams in eco brands). I finish with either almod oil or moisturiser (same stuff as in the morning). Sometimes I apply only/also toner, but not always.

If I get blemishes I always have to do something nasty to them... not cool, I know. But then I rinse with hot water and apply lemon juice to disinfect. I never get any infections this way.

Sometimes I do a face scrub with either almond oil or some moisturiser and sea salt. This same combo I use for other parts of my body as well.

On my body I use some moisturiser nearly every time I shower.

I guess that's about it. Basically, I guess, my philosophy is: if my face doesn't feel like it needs it, don't use it! :D

A photoshoot with Markus last Wednesday. The whole set you can check out here. We postponed this shoot for maybe like a gazillion times because it was raining or too cold or raining and too cold. Good we did this, cause now it was the perfect weather for this shoot in this particular location: the light was just perfect. :) So, I'm happy we didn't shoot on a dark and rainy day.

I was surprised about my bootyliciousness. :D Hehee! By the way, that dress I bought at a second hand market for 50 cents. :D I wasn't sure if I'd ever dare wear it in public, but hey, there's always need for clothes like this on photoshoots! And now that I got to this topic, the belt is also second hand, got it in Stockholm few years back. :)

And the title of this post is also a Bikini Kill song. ;)

A shoot before going to work in the early mornign. Well for Sami I guess it was late morning, since he's more of a morning person than me.

It took me a while to start liking this one (below).. maybe because I look somehow so raw. I don't know what I mean by raw exactly, but that's the word that comes to my mind just now looking at this.

This is a bit different kind of Sami, don't you think? And maybe even a bit different kind of me.. What do you think of these? I believe there's also more of these coming.

I helped a friend with her diploma work (? or something like that) as she's graduating from a beauty school and needed a bodypainting done for her portfolio and to be graded. I must say it became quite nice. :) Quite nice indeed: she got the best possible grade. ^^ I was just super glad I could be of help.

I felt so pretty as a green fairy. I looooove those feathers in my hair. (I just might start wearing them every day from now on.. or in some parties. Also I realised the many possibilities of eyelash glue..)

It's too bad we didn't have better framework for photography. Only a simple camera and light of the hallway. I managed to get the colours of the paint back a little with a bit of retouching though.

Luckily the paint was water soluble, so it wasn't too difficult to scrub off. :) It was a shame to do that though, cos Hannamari spent so much time doing this (2-3 hrs).

Anyway this was a nice experience and Hannamari also hinted on a new modelling thingy that might be coming up. ;) Not related to bodypainting.

First, what we did with Sami Saarenpää in the year 2009 (in addition to this previous post).

In addtion to being in ~~porn~~ adult entertainment magazines this year (Hustler and Erotiikan Maailma, although, only as a catalogue model type of thing, no spreading them legz) I did another shoot for Dare Dolls (which atm seems to have been disappeared from the net). This time with Olga. I'd wanted to do a collaboration with another model for some time and then I came up this idea of Olga. Or was it Sami's idea.. hmmm, might've been actually.

Aaaanyway, here a couple of those.

Later the same year I did a bit more classy stuff with him.

I got to try a couple of other new things this year as well. First up: body painting modelling for Heli Tikkanen. Here she's adding the final glitter on the paint. This was a very quickly done bodypainting jog in a party. She told me she normally has lots more time to paint a person. And even this took for quite some time!

Unfortunately I have no idea who took this picture.

During summer I did my first moving picture-thingy: Duke short film, where I starred as the stripper. The video was released finally this winter and got huge success on youtube and was recocgnized all over the world by different gaming magazines and such. Even the man who invented Duke Nukem complimented the video! :D Awesome! Later the vid was hidden for underaged viewers, and can thus only be seen by logging on Youtube. This is quite silly imho. There is no nudity and no real striptease. I merely hang around the pole. Read these posts about making the video!

I guess that was all worth mentioning for 2009! See you aigain in 2010. :D

Another shoot with Sami. Well actually, the same shoot with the biaatch and the stripey -concepts. I guess we tend to do lots of things once we get together. But hey, it works like that!

Okay, fine, the point in this was to shoot Sami's new bike. :D He just wanted to have me as an accessory there. x)

And yes, you've seen the socks and the shoes and the shirt and the bra before. -.- My wardrobe is only that extensive.

It's been almost a year since I shot with Markus the last time. We had fun though (this time as well as the last time). ^^ It was also extremely sunny and warm (Easter) day. Check out the whole set here on fotoni.org.

Oh and we also had a bit of an audience while shooting this set.. an old guy from a house nearby came out to, apparently, check his mail - for a quite lengthy period of time. After all, it was Easter Moday, so there was no mail delivered that day. x) Weeelll, some holiday fun for an old guy..

The pants, by the way, are by Tiina Rikala. :) They're not made for me particularly, but I fell in love with them on this show. Why can't a person go around wearing pvc hotpants all day everyday - or even on a Friday night! I would if it was possible! (And yeah, sure I could, but I'm not that into people staring and grabbing my ass and asking me degrading questions.)

Aaaaand I still love my hair. ^^ Cutting off the dreads was the best thing ever.

Need I say more? I wanted to have something else than cute and sweet for a change. I got exactly what wanted. It's cool, cos I know what kinda stuff might work with which photographer, so it's easy to suggest a theme and know that it's gonna work. This look was no doubt for Sami to shoot.

Last weekend I had an extempore-shoot with Emilia Kallinen. We drove to Ruissalo again, but hey, why not, there are plenty of picturesque places there.

We however started at my place fitting clothes and me doing my makeup. I felt it was a bit "done in a hurry" -kind, but appears ok in the pics.

Then off to the sunny Ruissalo!
We were in this cafe where there were people eating lunch and having coffee. Yikes! Turned out to be fine though and not as scary as you'd imagine shooting in a crowded place to be. :)

The curtains and the wallpaper matched my outfit. And check out that corgeous umbrella!

Yet another "my day as a princess" complete with Emilia. ^^

This one is by Hannu Mäkelä from our recent shoot in Loimaa. The place we shot in was amazing - at least for me it was totally inspiring. It was an old factory, if I'm correct, and the room we got for shooting was filled with antique artefacts and furniture. I love old things, and since the inspiration for the shoot was the 60s(ish) it was the most perfect place. Also we had beeeeautiful sunny day that day and the sun was shining to the room and especially to the corridor next to it. The corridor had a really oldies feel to it in all its clinical cleanliness.

This year I shot with new people again.

I don't remember who was when, but I'll introduce Anne first. It was fun to work with her. We should do something again soon.. I hope. :D Oh and remember to check Anne's blog!

Next up the shoot with Arto Soini. It was freezing cold outside that day. But I didn't get sick. :D I was certain I'd walk away from that shoot with a sore throat and bleeding nose, but surprisingly enough, I didn't. Hehee.

We also did yet another DareDolls photoshoot with Sami. I've already posted these pics from the set. Oh and I guess it wasn't revival for DareDolls anyway: at least now that I'm writing, the site is down.

Sami asked me to shoot "catalogue" for JoyFactory.. well, why the hech not! And so we did. I never ended up on their web page but I got on to their banner. :D It was a quick shoot.

I've modelled now twice on this same outfit on a Latex by Tiina Rikala -show. In addition I also had white and pink toy guns and a ack of money.. ;D On stage with me on this particular number there's also a sheriff - we figured we're the monkeys of the show. Our number is comedy while the two other numbers are sexy and sassy. :D Hahaaa! Oh well, I enjoy making jokes - I even thought of becoming a stand up comedian as a kid. :D (Then realised how afraid I was of microphones and hearing my own voice on the speakers...) Okay this has nothing to do with my topic. :D

Last post in this series was supposed to be dedicated to photos by Markus Lehto. As it turns out I did forget one photoshoot anyway. But no problem, here it is. Then I'll turn to pics by Sami Saarenpää. :)

As I mentioned on my earlier post it was indeed Markus who set me up with the photographer whose work I'm going to introduce next: Sami Saarenpää, or as he might better be known Viikate.

The first shoot with him was dead scary. :D He knows what he wants and seems to have a pretty clear picture on his mind about what the end result is going to look. Often when I'm planning to shoot with a new photographer I stress a lot. I'm always worried I can't bring the right outfit or the right accessories or that I'll fail otherwise. With Sami I felt this too. I also felt that I must've failed the shoot terribly afterwards - until I saw the finished photographs. :) Later I learned that this is just his style to guide the model: to tell exactly how to be on the photo. When it comes to first times shooting together this can take more time and as I wasn't used to be told what to do so precisely I thought I must be doing something terribly wrong and he must hate me. O.O

Apparently he didn't. ;)

Later I also learned to laugh at all this seriousness. Well, it is quite funny when a grown tattooed man shows you how to be cute and girly in a photo.. ;D Heeheee. As with some other photographers I've done several shoots with I dare say we've become friends during the years. When it's been a long time since shooting together I start to miss these guys. O.O (Getting all sentimental, are we..)

These two above pics we shot for DareDolls, but neither of these ended up on the actual site. I only have the copies with the logo, though. This set is such that I'd love to re-do it now that I'm all experienced. ;)

At the same time we did my all time favourite beauty shots. Since I'm again unable to decide which to publish, I'll post a couple of my faves.

This photoshoot was done in the Park Hotel in Turku. A nice nice place with an old time feel. Reminds me of a hotel I used to work in England back in the day. It was a Victorian building in Cambridge, now demolished. :( I doubt Park Hotel is that old however.

The next shoot was for DareDolls as well and even got published on the site.

I also got some making of -pics of this shoot. Here's exactly what I just told you about: Sami acting out what he wants from the model.Hehee.

The annoying little things

This is going to be the first ranting post of this blog! Wow. :D So beware..

There are a few things that annoy me in photographers and in people looking at my pictures. These situations described here are exaggerated to some extent and some have happened to me one time only. Don't take this too seriously either. ;)

The photos are chosen on the basis of having me there looking angry or dissaproving. No relation with the incidents mentioned with the photographers. ;)

- "Oh you got tattoos", says the photographer on the set. Yes. I friggin do have tattoos! You'd know that if you'd read my profile and chekced my photos on my portfolio anywhere.

- "Oh and remove your nose ring", says the photographer on the set as though surprised I got a nosering. If they'd checked my portfolio in MM (where basically all the photographers have found me in the first place) they'd know this and they could tell me in advance they want a look without the ring. This is easy to fix though.

- "You don't look like yourself at all!" says my friend/mother/anyone who knows me personally after seeing my photo. Well, yeaaah. What'd the point of modelling be if I always looked the same in every photo. O.o The whole point of modelling, my dears, is to be versatile, to look different, even weird. It's not the point to always look pretty and cute either.

- When arriving to the agreed place at the agreed time all ready with makeup on, ready to poseposepose, and realising the photographer is not ready at all. Ehm.. why did we agree to meet at this time if you haven't cleaned up the place(!)/ set the equipment/ thought of where to shoot and what to do. I could've come later, you know. Obviously there are exceptions to this: if we go to the location together (it'd be great if the photographer was familiar with the location beforehand), if the studio is far and the photographer takes me, also, if we're basically friends with the photographer and can chat about whatever then it's not such a big deal, but when I come to a photoshoot I'm ready. Always with make up on (maybe adding only lipstick), preferably also the clothes. Also, I arrive on time. So why won't the photographer?!

- Photographers expecting me to have a ginormous wardrobe. No, I do not. I shop mostly second hand. I use my clothes till they fall apart. I don't have the trendiest sack-like shirts. I hate leggings. And no, I do not have just that particular style skirt, shoes, shirt, dress. I also have very limited amount of shoes and clothes of a particular historical era/ certain style.

- Realising the photographer isn't really that big. Sure it's good to praise pneself, but bragging about stuff when one really isn't all that is just pointless - and will prove to be lie. So if you haven't shot all that much, don't tell me you're very experienced.

- Trying to make the model undress. We agree on implied nude and that nothing's supposed to show in the eventual photographs. During the shoot the photographer keeps telling me to lift my hem or lower my skirt, even asking me to take more clothes off. No, I will not, that is ot what we agreed on. Moron. I will never shoot with you again.

- Photographers that are photographers only to get to see(shoot nekked ladies. Need I say more?

There's going to be two posts about the year 2008. The second part will be shoots done with Sami Saarenpää and this one about the ones with Markus Lehto and one random photo from another project.

This was the year I got wild. :D I experimented more with nude and sexy-baby-hot -stuff. I also managed to do shoots with other photographers than Markus as well. :) In fact, it was him who was my "pimp"! I even feel bad not giving some sets their own post, but hey, you can always request for more pics of a certain theme! :D

Then came summer. I remember thinking about doing a shoot in the water or somehow combining water with the photoshoot. I've always felt that water is my element and used to be a competitive swimmer and all.. well, maybe diving in to the clear lake and dreaming of being a mermaid was more of my thing always. ;) It didn't take long that Markus sent me a message suggesting we'd do a shoot in a lake nearby. I'd never got to tell him about my ideas about shooting with water.. great minds think alike, huh. ;)

This one was however shot in Markus' studio, so there's a connection. ;) I'm not sure of the year of this photoshoot. I think it was 2008.

This was done for the DareDolls project and shot by Pepe Escobar. Jodie going all eeeeevil. ;) I'm not sure how ethical it is to shoot with a gun and wether I like it or not. 8/ I'd never pose with real fur or drugs (even pot).

New layout

Even though I did like the orange layout of my blog I decided to go for a little more modern one. This one is better cos it allows me to add bigger pics and videos cos this one is wider thann the last one. Blogger has developed since I got started and now it's almost fun to try out different looks for your blog! I used the colour codes from my old layout and got nearly the same colour scheme here. I bit more pink though;).. I've got a bit of an addiction to pink developing. O.o A little scary for a person who's been dressing in black for the last 5 or so years!

But hey, I'll try and post the next part of the "the story" series. Haven't had any photoshoots this year. :( So sad. But thenagain, I've been super stressed out and since modelling for me is a hobby.. well, maybe it's understandable that I haven't organized for photoshoots. But hey, I got one this Friday coming up! So maybe I'll have some pictures to post soon.

Year 2007, The Story of...

I wasn't sure how to approach this The Story of -theme further. I went trough the earlest photoshoots I had and I guess I could now make a collection of the year 2007. The first pics were taken in the end of 2006 so these are the photoshoots that followed straight after that. I did all these with Markus Lehto (before he pimped me to other photographers;D! Hahaa!). I was still reeeeally shy and insecure in front of camera and didn't feel confident enough to search for other photographers. Eventually, they found me. ;)

So, this was my second photoshoot ever. It felt only natural to remove clothes. :D No pressure from anyone's side.

I wanted to show my brand new tattoos - my first ones. ^^

For the third shoot of the year we ventured the great outdoors. :D

I thought I'd share with you some sort of time line of what I've been doing and how I've developed as a model. However, as I took a look at my first photoshoot I realized it'd be waaaay too difficult to just pic one picture here an another there for just one post. Therefore, I'm gonna do this in several posts. So, here begins the story of J. You can find all these posts later in tags by the name of "the story".

Aaanyway, here are some pics from my first photoshoot ever. Well, before this I'd had my high school graduation shoot and my "prom" shoot before that. The graduation picture is especially pretty nice - it was even put on display on the window of the shop. That was a bit of a highlight of my life at that point. ;D Hehee.

But now I'm gonna share with you the aforementioned First Photoshoot of Jodie. When Jodie started to go all model. :D The shoot was with markus Lehto in my flat.

Where did the idea of shooting together come from? There's this thing called irc-galleria... x) I had pictures there, so did Markus. I'm not sure who asked who to do something together. In my version it was him asking me to model for him, but he's saying it was me asking to shoot with him. :D So, who knows. Good that we did!

I was of course super nervous. I 'd met Markus for a coffee beforehand though. It was good at the time, cos I knew nothing about the whole scene. Now I prefer to keep it professional and skip all nonsense such as going to have a coffee with photographers. ;D

I do look a little shy and nervous. It's funny though, that even now very often in the first pictures of the shoot I look exactly the same. x) The little shy Jodie. Aaaw.

Daymn, I so miss those trousers. I still got them, they're just so worn out that I don't feel like wearing them anywhere i public. xD Also I so miss that green wall! It was the biggest wall of the apartment and really nice light forrest green. Not lime, not light green, nope. Nice shade of green that changed from yeallowish to olive-ish as the sun moved through my flat.

Aaaand after this shoot I think we arranged to ahoot again pretty soon.. :) This was November 2006. I was 22. Sigh.

Getting painted..

I just realized that I haven't said a word about Steve Gatlin's last visit to Finland (remember Steve? He's the guy behind this music video I posted earlier). He was here on early December and brought with him a live painter, or The performance painter Neal Ray Barbosa (see links at the end of this post!). I was lucky enough to invite two of my dearest friends with me to be painted by him on stage while Rebound was playing! Can it get any more awesome?! :D

I guess I haven't posteda bout this earlier, cos I've been sort of waiting to get some "real" pictures of the show and what happened on stage. Now I just feel like, whatever, Neal deserves his post. :D Even with a "crappy" pic taken by me by myself at home with my crappy camera and dim lights.

Me and my girls were super nervous and excited about hopping on stage with the band (it was an event of total of 3 bands). However, when we got there, at least I lost all the nervousness and just felt great! :D We were dancing up there and just jamming to the music - while Neal was painting t-shirts that we were wearing. It was simply fun! :D

I'm sooooo happy and feel soooo grateful I've had the opportunity to meet with these people from the sunny California.. that's where I'd rather be. So cos I just now can't be in California, it's just perfect they're bringing the California to me. :D And ofcourse it was super rad to hang out with the guys from Rebound after their show;D!

But hey, here's the pic that could be better. :D Notice me standing in all fashion bloggerish kinda way.. x)

It's not often that I actualy try to get something sold here.. in fact this is the first (and possibly the last?) time. This photo (or rather a set of) has come to it's retirement from circling around and being displayed in different places..

This series is printed on aluminium and is now for sale. Size of this piece is about one meter wide and 30cm high. The price is negotiable. Make an offer!

I am not selling this piece alone, nope, I'm merely a messenger;). The person behind this is Sami Saarenpää, the photographer (well, naturally I'd get my share, so..). And I must say this set of pictures looks great this size and on aluminium!

I went to see the guys play the other day and I must say that even though this style of music is not exactly my thing, I did nod my head and raise my hand to the music. Thus: a great gig! :D Also, my two companions there seemed to be pretty impressed -and they know this kind of music far better than me. ;)

Go see Mormânt De Snagov, it's serious angrybibleburningkindof metal for sure! You wont be dissapointed. :D

Happy New Year dearies!^^ I wanted to make a collage about 2010 photoshoots, but.. naah, maybe some other time.) I'll tell you about the latest photoshoot instead. :)

When the idea for this photo came up I wasn't quite sure what to think. Not exactly your most feminist of ideas.. ;) But being a modern day post post-feminist I of course thought about this for maybe two seconds and said Yes I'll do it!

And not long since that and I was on my way to a photoshoot thinking "Why do I aaaalways have to agree to do everything and be all yes yes yes". I mean, the feminist issue yeah, but then also me naked with a male model. O.o Yikes! Funny thing was, that I also happened to know the guy, Kari, vaguely. We sort of knew each other but had never met properly (well, what do you wanna call proper, we'd only ran into each other a few times), well now it sure was proper. Eek!

I also panicked a little about the physical aspect of the shoot: how would I be able to hold myself stiff and how would he be able to hold me! I was more concerned about me though. Turned out that my part was fairly easy (thanks to the little training I've done<3), since his hands kept on slipping - it never occurred to me to bring baby powder to the shoot. :D

Also turned out that the shoot wasn't as "bad" as I feared - on any level. And the end result is not as degrading to a woman as I had imagined it to be. ;) In fact, the result is rather stylish I must say! (And this is the place to use rather rather that pretty.) Thank you again Sami for asking me to be part of your idea..! :D

Once upon a time there was a career woman, a business lady. She always dressed smart and looked classy and efficient. She was thought by some to look beautiful, though she did not smile very often. Some were in fact a little afraid of her. She worked in a big busy company full of men, but she had worked her way through from being a coffee maker to an executive with a good position. She was sharp and witty. She was not a floral dresses and giggle -type of woman, no. She was strictly business. No one at her work knew much about her private life. They gossiped though, as they always do. The men in the company had pictures of their wives and children on their desks. When they visited her office there was only one picture on her heavy mahogany desk, a picture the point of which they could not quite grasp: a picture of a pink plastic flamingo. Some said it was merely a question of decoration or design, some however, "just didn't get it", it did not seem to fit her style.

She lived in a big white house. A mansion really. She loved Scandinavian clean white style in decoration. She also loved modern art and had collected some statues and painting to add that finishing touch to her home. After rthe hectic day at the company, sometimes when she removed her heels, the marble floor felt a little cold under her feet.Sometimes the house also felt a little too big and empty and cold. In fact, sometimes she herself felt an odd cold feeling inside, and when she really really thought about this feeling she realised what it was. She sometimes felt, even though she had everything a woman can hope for, a bit lonely.

On moments like this, she sat down, held her pink flamingo, Hugo, on her arms and talked to her about her worries (yes, even hard boiled business women worry sometimes).

An afternoon..

Last week Nadi came to Turku to shoot with me (aaand possibly some other models as well, but this is all about memememememeee! :D So of course he came all the way here just for me;).) one of his Afternoon with.. -series. We had so much fun (again) doing the shoot and ended up trying many different things. It's easy when you have the wardrobe right there and can just improvise as you go! On my last post I was talking about the crazy creative.. well yeah, there was some of that for sure. ;) Oh oh oh, and to make the afternoon even more perfect, Nadi cooked me lunch. :D We became hungry after hours of shooting and since I'm not much of a cook, he took the lead. I just can't help but loove people who cook for me (oooor take me out to dinner, but that's a different story)! :D Hahaa!

Anyway, here are some photos from the shoot. More to come.

Oh and yeah, I need your opinion once again! How do you like the captions with the photographer's name under the pictures? I only recently thought it might be a good idea, since I may talk about many things on the actual text, and I definately want to give credit to those it belongs. I mean, another option would be to just write the name before or after the pictures more clearly. What do you think my darlings??

I shot nudes! :D

I looove the fact that photographers are artists in a sense that they bring in ideas that are outside the box. I love the crazy creative! It's fantastic that even though I never became an actual artist myself (as I was supposed to as a kid) I still can hang around these people and even to contribute to their work. Awesome! I'm talking of not just one person here for sure. Here, however is a picture from the latest shoot we did with Sami.

I believe this picture would be good learning material for the morons who think all nude pics are porn! :D This goes pretty far from adult entertainment in my opinion. (And here I almost said something very clever and analytic about the picture not having the woman as a sexual object but rather a being with plastic, statuesque form, but I decided to drop it..)

I wanna do more shoots! Now! With my new hair n all, I feel like I want to do my portfolio all over again from a scratch. But where are all the photographers now when I need 'em?!

(Okay, okay, I'm pretty busy here myself as well, this time of year I guess everyone is?!)

I would looove to have a new beauty shot.. Here's one hanging on my wall (okay, I really don't have my own pic on the wall, but I just turned the page of the calendar for the purpose of getting a pic here.. and then it immediately fell down from my wall. O.o "Stop being so vain, take off this stupid pic of yourself" my wall was saying.).. I think this is one of the beauty shots I love the most. One of the best taken of me. Although, now it feels this girl here is someone totally different from me. Someone pretty lying on the bed.. wow, amazing. Now can I be in it next?!:D

I already earlier mentioned this latex fashion show I did for Heavenly Circus in summer. Now, finally I got the pictures! :D It's taken some time I guess to transform my hair into yellow ans remove all my moles. ;) I've probably never seen this photoshopped image of myself and it's kinda weird. :D But I guess it goes well with the cute pink polished style.

Okay the first one is not that PS'd. Here are all of us Victorian style girls. Why was I the only one with the puffy pants?! O.o

This photoshoot was done quickly between getting ready for the show and the actual show itself in a home studio.

I got lots of attention with this outfit at the Shining Ball -party where we hanged around after the show. :D

This also might be the last shoot with this hair. I'm planning on cutting off my dreads. I've had them for almost 7 years now and suddenly I felt like it was a time for change. But we'll see what happens.

Okay, this award also involves telling 7 random facts/secrets about oneself. And giving it forward to 7 people. The magic number seven.. a theme here. I'm not sure if I even know that many bloggers, but I'll do my best. :)

Okay, the random seven about my modelling stuff -since this a themed blog, I thought I might just as well stick to it (and I did, almost!). :)

1. Before a photoshoot I used to refrain from eating anything fatty, so that my skin would saty in good condition. Well, I've totally stopped doing this. O.O

2. I think I secretly wanted to be a model on the runway as a teenager even though I told everybody how much I'd hate that and how commercial the whole industry was and how I'd never want to be part of that.

3. As a teenager I was in Brighton on a language course and a woman stopped me on the street asking me for my height, weight, age etc. She was from London-based modelling agency and was curious wether I lived in England.. I of course, at the age of 18 and feeling like I looked like crap especially that day, laughed about the incident (also, see number 2). But I believe, on some level, this very event planted the idea about me being a model inside me and made me work towards it unconciously. (I mean, my that time favourite model Kate Moss was short for a model and found at an airport -looking like crap!)

4. Sometimes, I feel like crap because of modelling and the competition and pressure it sets. Even though I probably know nothing of those since I don't reeeeallly work as a model. But still, sometimes this just gets to me. I would reeaally wanna look like the ladies on the magazines and reeeeaally high fashion and editorial, but I guess I just have to face it: I'm more of the alternative kind/ I suit best for beauty, nude, girl next door etc. :(

5. I've done BA on English Philology at the University. Now, however, I study European Ethnology at the Uni and I'm just starting my MA. (My BA on Ethnology got the best grade possible and was awarded with a prize. So there you have it with stupid models! Ha!)

6. I do love attention. I'm a bit of an attention whore really. :) I'm scared of being on stage but I'd love to do runway shows and such and be a lecturer at the university. :D

7. I started this blog, not because of what I said in the 6, but because.. naaaaaah, who am I kidding! ;D I wanted to show more pitures to more people and make myself known to the entire WOOOOORRRLD! And then I'm taking over the entire universe. :)

(8. I use a lot of sarcasm.)

When shooting Simonetta, we did other things than just this one picture. Here are some of them. For once and perhaps the first time I feel like I actualy look like a real model. :) I've had a bit of a crisis with myself lately, hearing Tya Banks on ANTM saying to me on judging "This beeeeeautiful girl I see in front of me. Is she just a pretty girl, or is there that high fashion edge to her" or "When she's standing in front of me, I see a beeeeautiful girl, but the judges are still wondering does that translate into the pictures, is she photogenig enough to make it in the fashion industry" and so on. Hm. Perhaps I've watched too much America's Next Top Model.

Secret Meeting X

We've planned this shoot for long. It took really short time to shoot it when we finally managed to get together and do it. This is from the Secret Meeting series that sami has done. This though is perhaps the brightest and even one of the happiest stories among those. Not sure, however, cos I haven't seen all of them. And you can always "read" this any ways you like.. ;)

Jodie goes nude

I've been doing nude shoots with one or two photographers only. These are people I've wprked with a lot and who I've known for a long time. For reason or another I've fought against doing more nudes. Perhaps cos I'd rather see myself as a "real" model, real meaning one in the magazine in a fashion spread.. however, I do enjoy doing nudes. Especially, if there's some other point to it than being hot'n sexy. Like the shoot with Markus we did this summer, it's not meant to be sexy -in the sense of erotic anyways. I know there are some people who cannot see the difference between a pic in a men's amgazine and an artistic nude photo, however, I see a huge difference.

I had to go through all this and decide where I want to go with modelling since I was asked to do a nude photoshoot by photographer under the name of Skin and Ink, who was visiting Finland recently (from India). We arranged the shoot in just one day: I hadn't read my ModelMayhem inbox and when I finally did, I noticed the only possible day for me to go to Helsinki would be the following day! So, quick decisions had to be made.

I decided to go, even though it was clear it was going to be full nude. However, I made it clear I didn't want any spread legs -shots. Okay, the photographer seemed like a sensible person who also listens to the model. He also told me he was going to publish these pics in a book and that the would donate part of the profit made to a charity that works with abused women in developing countries. Even easier to say yes, right!?

For some reason, I was reeeeally excited to do this photoshoot and happy at the same time. :D Crazy, you'd think I'd be super nervous and iffy and all that. But on the train to Helsinki I guess I sort of realised that I really could do more nudes, since I like doing them. Besides, why should I hide my body.. I like it, so maybe some other people do as well! And why is a naked body something to be hidden and being ashamed of in the first place? Ok, ok, I'm still going to pick my nude shoots carefully and I decided I wouldn't do these on tfp -principle (time for pictures trade). So, you photographer there reading this: I will NOT absolutely certainly shoot with you even if you offer me munny!

Hmm.. so much talk again. Maybe a time for a pic or two, huh?

The photographer was a really nice man with clearly passion for what he was doing. Well, don't they all.. ;) And I must say I was a bit worried that photos taken in a hotel room with poor light would look like photos taken in a hotel room with poor light. However, I was positively surprised with the outcome! The light is just fine and the place is not screaming hotel room at all. :) Well, to me at least the outcome is this, I don't know about you nitpicking prhotgraphers.. ;D

Okay, this is all I dare to put here. :D I'm still too shy with showing these.. ;)

I'll be probably getting more these pics later, so perhaps we'll get back to the topic later.

But to sum up:
-I enjoy doing nudes.
-There's anyway a difference between a nude and a nude.
-I will continue with clothed pics just as I've done so far.
-I'll choose carefully with whom and what kind of nudes I do.
-I won't do nudes for TF* (except with the ones I've done these before, you know who you are :D I'd never charge you!).
-Nudes are more like an exception to my usual modelling -still. The main focus continues to be on the clothed pics.

One more time in the woods this summer

And more hideous bugs that ate my feet and so on. But leaving that aside, I had a great shoot in Porvoo with Nadi Hammouda. A very nice guy with whom shooting was FUN. :) I didn't have to be scared of making too many jokes and making the photographer annoyed! x) Hahaa! Okay, his idea of a photoshoot seems to be to create something that hasn't been done before with the model. Which is great. We tried for instance smiling/laughing -which I've never done before- and movement in the shots. The movement-part was a success:), smiling not so much (cos I think my cheecks look like tits when I smile xD!).. ;)

Here a little darker one. This is something I don't recall having in my port either: dark, heavy shadows.

And then a little brighter pic.. at least when it comes to colours. What do you say about my expression? Annoyed much? :D

Okay, o my previous post I promised you Marie Antoinette, but instead (since I don't have those pics just yet) I'll give you someone from way back earlier: Simonetta. However, vastly modernised. I love the way Emilia was able to do my hair! This is just awesome. So, now I know who to turn to in case I have a big party coming up;).

So the inspiration for this photo was Simonetta Vespucci, who was a muse for many artists of the 15th century. She is, for instance, portrayed on Botticelli's painting The Birth of Venus.

I really miss my boots (it's too hot for them at the moment) and those jeans are just tearing apart. They're soooo old. :( *snif* But hey, the bottom line is: I kinda like this outfit. ..and was just wondering wether I could go to a club with this on.. hmmmmm.

Oh, and by the way, the title of this post is also a name of a drink on this club I go to -far too often. :D

White Trash Blues coming up..

Here's little something from what's coming up! :D I can tell you this was a hell of a fun afternoon with some awesome people and I'm SO looking forward to seeing the video! The music video was for Rebound's latest single White Trash Blues directed by Steve Gatlin. Unfortunately we had no time (or energy) to do a photoshoot with him. But next time we're in the same country.. we're gonna do it for sure! It was great to work with Steve and Rebound and Artturi and the girls -who brought such an energy to the shoot!

However, I need a little help here since I have a difficult choice to make: which name am I going to use.. in the poster now it says Jodie, but the name will also appear in the credits at the end of the video. The first instinct was to go with my real name, which I also used in the Duke -shortfilm.. but then again.. Jodie is my modelling name..could make it into Jodie P, but then again if someone wants to find me for instance in Facebook they'll be more likely to do so by using my real name.. O.O Choices, choices.. never been too good at them. Help, anyone?

A little note now afterwards: this poster is where it ended up with my difficult choice. :D

The fairy tale continues.. :) Many of you ahve said that in the previous pics I look like a fairy or pixie, well, whatd'ya think of these? ;)

Here's a sneak peek of what we did with Emilia Kallinen the other day -or evening more so. We did this shoot at Ruissalo, an island almost attached to the mainland here in Turku. The nature is really beautiful there. And I felt like a princess with the outfit and my hair done 'n all. ^^

Styling, hair, outfit and everything is by Emilia. :)

More of these to come.. for example one with me facing my fear: face to face with a bunny rabbit. O.O

Oh, and the mosquitos in Ruissalo were far worse than the ones on the rocks. Goaaarrrh, but hey, for the art;).

Last Thrusday we went to do a nude shoot with Markus. You may now see the connection between the pics from a couple of summers back and these.. well, at least there's the make up..

It was a warm evening with a little wind. There were mosquitos that were basically eating me all over. But it was worth it. :) I really was happy with the result. And there were even some pics that I can post here without blushing (ie where I'm not totally totally nekkid). Hehee.

And the sun. It was beautiful. It was just setting and the last pictures we took on the boulder/cliff/crag (dunno what I should call it) and the sun was setting behind the trees right on the front of us. Wow. It was a beautiful feeling to stand there butt naked gazing at the sun. W o w.

These last pics are precisely on that spot. Unrelated to the rest of the set really, but there's the SUN!

Oh and one more thing that was just lovely, the white little flowers you can just about see there are flowers of lingoln berries. They are my absolute favourite berries ever. :D What a coincidence..

I've been quiet for too long a time now. Yesterday I hade a photoshoot though. Now I'm waiting for the pics to show up. :) Something else is going on too, I have at least one other shoot coming up plus a music video shoot next Friday and a latex fashion show next month. :) So yei, things are happening^^!

It was terribly cold in the lake. O.o But hey, I'm always cold anyways. :D I don't know how I keep on finding myself in circumstances where it is cold and uncomfortable. Oh well, for the sake of art! In the end of the day, I'm always glad I did these kind of shoots anyway. ^^

Spring and fairy tales

I've always loved fairytales and I still do. I still have to read Ronja ryövärintytär by Astrid Lindgren (Ronia the Robber's Daughter) every now and then because it's just so amazing book (and has a little stubborn girl as the hero! Talk about identification..). I've also bought some picture books now that I'm all grown up. But fairy tales are so wonderfully imaginative and perfect escapism and they sometimes have the most amazing picures that why should one stop loving them when they become older. No they shouldn't!

And as I'm writing this, a dark heavy cloud is approaching from the East and hiding the pale blue of the evening sky. From my window I can already see it's raining far back there and waiting for the first rain drops to hit my window sill..

(And that's true! How dramatic is that!^^ Just waiting for the beeeeautiful summer thunder storms!)

Mine are small but I love them, okay!?

I just recently read this blog where the writer (a 20 y.o. Finnish girl) said out loud that she's saving for silicone breasts and that she thinks everyone should do whatever they can to improve their looks by surgigal means. She also stated that her concept of beauty is exceptionally good and therefore she should be the judge in all kinds of beuty contests. Her idea of beuty or a beautiful woman is thus someone with plastic all over and fake this and that (cos few of us has it all by birth).
That's kinda sad, really.

Also, I just a moment ago ran into the portfolio of a model who does mainly nudes and has really small tits. And I wanted to praise her for what she's doing! She didn't even try to make her boobs look bigger, but more so she had a lot of stretches that made her titties disappear alltogether! That, my friends, I'd call brave!

One photographer once told me I look "manly" (that's the exact word he used) if I don't be careful with my breast during the shoot. At the time I said nothing, I was more like.. whattahell he just said? But later, now that I think of it, that fuckin idiot! Who says that to a model!? And besides, the pose wasn't anything where the boob would disappear from stretching or the like. I was sitting on a girly fashion on the floor with a skirt on.. my hair was covering my bare breasts. Oh well. I don't need to shoot with thoughtless people like that again. And truth be told, I never said anything to him about this discomfort.. and that kinda bugs me.

Also on this one web site out of the pics I chose to be sent in, only one was published -and that one was definately not the one with an aforementioned stretching pose where my tit had reduced to a nip. I mean, out of maybe a 5-10 pics they chose one to show on the site and that one they chose was, in my opinion, far worse than the one with the disappeared tit. And the only cause for that, that I can think of, is the lack of tit. Hmm.. well, this is just speculation. Might not've been that reason really.. But just a thought.
Anyway. I didn't mean to sound like a bitter chick with itty bitty titties. I meant to sound like someone who embraces her small tits, wouldn't change them for a million and seriously wishes and hopes that other girls and women with not so humongous set of jugs would appreciate their set of pretty little ones^^. And mind you, I don't mean to say the big titted ladies should feel less appreciative toward their own boobies! And I don't mean to say I loathe silicones or the people who want/have them. I just don't like the idea that everyone should look like the copy of each other! A copy of some perfect fantasy woman who, in the end, does not even excist.

If a photographer wants to shoot with me, they should know I don't have a D-cup - and that's apparent if they'd take a minute to check my portfolio (eg. on MM I have semi nudes as well where you can see the state of affairs). If a photographer needs to worry about me looking manly if my tits won't be right there on the pic.. I can just hope they wouldn't work with me in the first place.

Ooookay. Now all photographers are on the alert when shooting toppless with me.. x) Well, no need. Of course a photographer can tell me to move here or there to get my tits on the pic better or something like that. Just.. just that, well, you should know, I have smaller tits than some, but for me it's not a hindrance or a lack and it shouldn't be to you either.

There, I said it. You can hate me now;).

Babble, babble

A while ago I did a test shoot with Michael Schultes, a German photographer who was visiting Finland due to work related matters (gosh, aren't I sounding formal!). This is one of the pics I've got since. He's really busy at the moment, so I'll probably get some more pics later. :)

As I think I've mentioned, I got some shoots planned, but I've been busy with my studies and work and managing them both. This is the time of year when everything piles up at the university studying world.. Although, I started feeling like I'm stressed for nothing, since people around me seem to have tons more studying stuff than I do. Oh well. My indian (or should I say native American?) name is probabaly Stresses-a-lot or something. However, I managed to finally pull together my BA!!! ^^ And as for my other studies, I only have one paper to finnish and that'll be it for this Spring! I also ralised while filling in the application form for the BA degree, that I have enough completed courses to fill my MA! :D How cool is that. All I need to do now is the last courses in my major and do the (feared) thesis. Hmm. Now I ended up babbling about something toooootally irrelevant to my modelling. :D Although, I could link this to modelling in the sense that this affects how much I'm able to do it right now.

Wheeeee, I got the pics now from February's shoot with Ilari Nurmi. :)

Aren't I cute or what? x) We were meant to do something different and went for the pink theme.

This shoot was different in that too, that this was the first time ever(?) I didn't really get any direction from the photographer. :) It was kinda cool for a change. I said about this to him and he told me he thought I had a good flow going on there with my posing so he reckoned I didn't need any help. ^^

(I think about this pic below Tyra in ANTM would say: "You're modelling from head to toe" ;) cos I think I pretty much am!)

Here, below, you can see my tats pretty well.

It was fun shooting with Ilari and there's gonna be a reunion in the summer maybe.. or at some point anyway! It's always more fruitful to do a shoot with someone whose ways you already know.. and who knows mine. :D

One more pic I have to add.. I'm not sure whether I love this or not. There's the pinky, but then there are some other things that I'm not quite as fond of. For instance, I totally should've leaned forward a bit so I'd look less stomachy and shortlegged. What do you think?! :) Keep it or loose it? Feedback please!
